THE NEW MSCAN METEO V3.0 - INTRODUCING THE WORLD OF GRIB
I am happy to announce the release of Mscan Meteo v3.0, introducing a
completely new Graphical User Interface, the ability to make voice
recordings and a GRIB viewer and file request utility.
NEW GUI
A new GUI (Graphical User
Interface) has been created that makes the
look of the program more "standard Windows" and takes care of some
confusing situations for those of you who prefer to use the program with maximized
windows. Various new functions for panning, zooming, cropping and rotating
have been added. A seperate File Viewer allows simultaneous viewing of
multiple FAX images, text and GRIB files.
GRIB SUPPORT
A GRIB file viewer has been
added for viewing common GRIB files. A handy utility is included to request
GRIB files by e-mail from the Saildocs
service, working closely with an installed e-mail or Airmail program.
VOICE SERVICE
Mscan Meteo v3.0 now
supports four services: FAX, NAVTEX, RTTY and VOICE. The VOICE service allows
you to make (timed) recordings of audio broadcasts, enabling you to listen to
them at a later time.

Various other more or less
important features have been added, including
support for the Yaesu FT-757 transceiver and a further improved FAX
start & stop tone detection. You can try the program for free by

The program can also be seen at the London Boat Show, booth S2316, where it is
introduced as a de luxe retail package by MES Ltd. under the name SmarterMeteo.
The price of Mscan Meteo v3.0 will remain 195 euro. Various discounts
apply for registered users of previous versions. The program is
